Members of Rapides Parish Fire District 12 recently worked alongside the Echo-Poland Fire Department on fire prevention efforts and education at Poland Jr. High.
The fire district said partnerships like this strengthen its ability to serve communities and prepare for emergencies before they happen. Because there is not a school in the district, Poland Jr. High was selected because most children in the district attend the school.
The fire district also expressed appreciation for its mutual aid departments and the relationships that allow departments to work together, share resources, knowledge and experience to provide the best possible response.
The department said strong partnerships lead to better preparation and safer communities.
