Geaux Far Louisiana recently recapped its Alexandria gathering during Geaux Far Week.

The gathering provided an opportunity to share more about Geaux Far Louisiana’s mission and coalition model, celebrate its 2026 wins and hear from community members about the priorities they want to see carried into 2027.

Geaux Far Louisiana also recognized leaders making a difference for Louisiana’s children and families through its Geaux Far Week Awards.

Community Award recipients were Patrick Moore and Cindy Rushing. Senator Womack received the Legislator Award.

Geaux Far Louisiana thanked those who participated in the Alexandria gathering for sharing their voices, experiences and ideas, as well as Anne Jayes and Mitzi LaSalle for hosting the event.
