By JIM BUTLER

Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy has raised a quarter-million dollars in his current reelection campaign, almost that much more than his two opponents combined.

According to reports required 30 days prior to the November 3 election, Roy had $205,000 on hand.

Opponent and City Council member Malcolm Larvadain had raised $12,300 with  $600 remaining; challenger Lorenzo Davis Sr. had spent all of $2,200 raised.

Larvadain reports a $2,000 contribution from the Eighth District Baptist Association and four other contributors in the $1,000 to $1,500 range.

Roy reports eight contributions at the $6,000 level:

Aegilus Health, Central Management Company, Sharon Booker Chicola, Neblett Beard & Arsenault, Pan American Engineers, Phillip Terrell Campaign Account, Ritchie Real Estate and RoyOMartin Family Trust.

His report lists 26 contributors in the $3,000 category and dozens in other ranges.

Spending by all three candidates has been for campaign materials, media buys, donations and such.
