The Rapides Parish School Board broke ground Aug. 6 on a new Career and Technical Education building at Buckeye High School.

The building is planned to open in early 2027 and will provide students with a dedicated space to train for industry-based credentials in high-demand career fields in Central Louisiana, such as HVAC and plumbing.

Local partners ACA and Foster Construction propelled the project. ACA’s significant investment in the project will support not only its construction, but also help facilitate work-based experience for students.

The Rapides Parish School Board expressed appreciation for the support and the opportunities the facility will provide for students.
