The Pineville Police Department has announced a venue change for its 2nd Annual Back to School Bash School Supply Giveaway because of forecasted high temperatures and the possibility of rain.

The event, originally scheduled to be held at Walmart, will now take place at the Hotel Pineville Convention Center, located at 2727 Monroe Highway in Pineville. The convention center is the former Country Inn & Suites and is located across the street from the Holiday Inn Express.

The department thanked the Hotel Pineville Convention Center for accommodating the event on short notice.

The Back to School Bash is scheduled for Friday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers plan to distribute 500 backpacks along with school supplies.
