Funeral services for Janell Ann Mayo will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in Harmony Church, Deville, with Rev. Clay Chevalier officiating. Burial will be in Big Island Baptist Church Cemetery, Deville, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Mrs. Mayo, 57, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026, in her residence.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a beautiful, strong woman with a heart of gold. She loved horses and old-time country and western music. She enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie and Family Feud. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch in her rocking chair.

Janell is survived by her husband of 30 years, Tony Mayo; daughter, Katelyn Palermo (Tony); son, Justin Parker; mother, Annie Gates; sister, Tammy Saucier (Larry); grandchildren, Kaleb Palermo, and Michael Palermo, and her nephews, Kelton McNeely, Trevor Saucier, and Kade McNeely.

Janell was preceded by her father, Justin Gates.

Pallbearers will be Tony Palermo, Larry Saucier, Kelton McNeely, Justin Parker, Trevor Saucier, and Kade McNeely.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Lambing, Parrish Ducote, Charlie Gates, Benny Gates, and James Mayo.
