Remembering Eddie Lowell Metz

Mr. Eddie Lowell Metz, age 74, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 1, 2026, at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation in Pollock, Louisiana.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, David A Metz, Sr. and Geraldine Metz and his brother, David A. Metz, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 9 ½ years, Lilly Lofton Metz; stepchildren, Denise and Mark Kelly; four step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sister, Sherry Metz Sibley; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Eddie was a man of faith who loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Redeemer Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. His faith was an important part of his life, and he cherished his relationship with the Lord.

An avid outdoorsman, Eddie found great enjoyment in fishing and duck hunting. He also had a deep passion for history, particularly the Civil War. He loved collecting Civil War relics and anything related to that era, an interest that brought him great enjoyment and reflected his appreciation for preserving pieces of the past.

Eddie will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his fascination with history, and, most importantly, his love for the Lord. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

May he rest in eternal peace in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior.
