BRIDGE CLOSURE: Beeson Road over Flagon Bayou Tributary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that beginning Monday, October 19, 2026 at 7:00 AM, weather permitting, Beeson Road over Flagon Bayou will be closed to the traveling public.

Only local traffic will be permitted on Beeson Road, no thru traffic will be allowed. This is a continuation of the current road closure due to the replacement of the bridge over Flagon Bayou and the failure of the roadway adjacent to the bridge.

This bridge is located immediately west of US 165 (Monroe Hwy), just south of Ball.

These closures are necessary to remove the existing concrete slab span bridge over Flagon Bayou, and replace it with precast concrete box culverts, class II base course, asphalt concrete pavement, and related work. Beeson Road is a locally-owned and maintained roadway.

All work is anticipated to be completed by the of end December 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.

The contract was awarded to Brudd Construction, LLC in the amount of $596,638.41.

Permit/Detour section:

The detour for this road closure is as follows:

Traffic wanting to access the West side of the Beeson Road bridge will need to take US 165 northbound past Beeson Rd. approximately 0.5 miles and take a left onto LA 1204 (Ball Cut Off Rd.). Traffic will then continue West on LA 1204 for 0.33 miles and take a left onto Ball Loop. Then continue on Ball Loop for 0.67 miles, and take a left onto Beeson Road.

Traffic wanting to access the East side of Beeson Road will drive in a northern direction on Ball Loop for 0.67 miles, and then take a right onto LA 1204 (Ball Cut Off). Continue on LA 1204 for 0.33 miles, and take a right onto US 165 south bound. Traffic will continue on US 165 south bound for 0.5 miles and then take a right onto Beeson Road.

Safety Reminder:

All construction activity is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
