The City of Alexandria marked the completion of renovations at Charles F. Smith Park with a ribbon cutting and grand reopening.

The renovated playground features new play structures, a 16-by-16-foot shade canopy, new sidewalks, improved access, drainage upgrades, site furnishings and landscaping.

The existing basketball court was preserved for continued use.

The project is part of the city’s ongoing work to improve parks and recreation spaces throughout Alexandria through REIGNITE.
