LCU Ranks No. 2 for Safety, Best Value in Louisiana
Louisiana Christian University
Louisiana Christian University has been ranked second in Louisiana for both safest campus and best value among 20 universities evaluated in the Niche.com 2026 Best Colleges list. LCU earned an A- in safety and diversity and a B+ in best value.
“We believe value is about more than the cost of an education,” said LCU President Dr. Mark Johnson. “It is also about the values that shape that education.”
Director of Campus Security John Dauzat credited FEMA-funded investments in AI-powered cameras, expanded perimeter lighting, portable weapon detection systems, and a K-9 unit for the safety recognition. Niche bases its safety rating on campus and local crime rates and student surveys; its best value ranking draws on net price, alumni earnings, graduation rates, and student debt data from the U.S. Department of Education.
