Bruce Albert McClellan, 71, of Deville, Louisiana, passed away, after a long battle with cancer, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. He was born on January 25, 1955 in Cleveland, Mississippi, to Albert and Gloria McClellan.
Funeral services for Bruce will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Deville with Reverend Stuart Sasser officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery, Deville, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
Pallbearers will be Rian Frazier, Albert J. Frazier, Drew Frazier, Erich Vallery, Rick Markway, and Dale Smith.
Honorary pallbearer will be Steven McClellan.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the church from 9:00 until time of service.
Bruce shared his life with his beloved wife, Dianne Costilow McClellan for 44 years. Together, they were members of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where they shared their Christian faith with community and close friends.
Bruce devoted much of his life to agriculture aviation. He was a long-time agriculture pilot, crop duster, and took great pride in his work through his business, Dixie AG. His career combined his love of flying with his connection to the land.
Away from flying, Bruce was an avid outdoorsman. He spent much of his free time hunting and fishing on The West side-activities that brought him great enjoyment and allowed him to spend time with Dianne and friends in the outdoors he loved.
Bruce was quick-witted, loved pranks, had a deadpan sense of humor and shot from the hip – he told you straight up what he felt or thought. You had to really pay attention around Bruce so you’d know if he was serious or “pulling your leg”. Most of the last 8 years, he downplayed his illness and questioned why his family and friends would visit him because nothing was ever going to keep him down. They believed that too.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Gloria McClellan, his brother, Steven John McClellan and his nephew, James Mathew Gregory.
He is survived by his wife Dianne McClellan; his siblings, Connie McClellan Hegwood, Valerie McClellan and her husband, David Johnston, Ladye Ann McClellan, spouse of the late Steven McClellan, James Lee McClellan and his wife, Connie McClellan and Aimee McClellan, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, the 6 Musketeers, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Bruce will be remembered for his love of flying, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, his family, and for the life he built with Dianne. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Dear God I come to You as humble As I know how. I confess my sins, those known and unknown. Lord, you know I am not perfect and I fall short every day of my life, but I want to take time to say Thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for my health, my family, my friends, the roof over my head, food on my table and everything I have. Amen
