The City of Pineville updated its Abandoned Vehicle Ordinance as part of efforts to improve the appearance, safety and quality of neighborhoods.
Under City of Pineville Ordinance No. 2026-404, adopted Aug. 11, junked, wrecked, dismantled, inoperable, abandoned or unlicensed vehicles may not be kept or stored on residential or other property within the city.
Vehicles undergoing major disassembly or repair must be kept inside an approved enclosed structure.
Once properly notified, owners generally have 15 days to remove the vehicle or bring it into compliance. Failure to comply may result in citations, penalties, towing and associated costs.
Vehicles creating an immediate health or safety hazard may be subject to immediate removal.
Vehicles, trailers, boats, ATVs/UTVs, campers and other transportation equipment must also be removed from condemned properties as directed by the city.
