Rapides Parish public schools ranks ninth in state in DIBELS Early Literacy Assessment

Rapides Parish Public Schools ranked ninth in the state in student proficiency on the DIBELS early literacy assessment, and the district was recognized by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education in Baton Rouge.

The ranking reflects the work of K-3 teachers providing literacy instruction, school and district leaders supporting the work, and families reading at home with their children.

DIBELS stands for Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills. The assessment is a screener that the district’s youngest students take three times a year. It measures foundational reading skills.
