The City of Pineville, Mayor Bishop and the City Council joined the Pineville Downtown Development District for the official unveiling of a historical marker at Hunter Street Cemeteries.

The project was made possible through a partnership with Mark Wood and the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, whose work helped clean up and restore the cemetery grounds to honor those laid to rest there.

Retired Mayor Clarence Fields was a special guest at the event and was invited to pull the cover and officially reveal the new marker to the community.

Local historian Mike Wynne was also recognized for his dedication and research that helped make the marker possible.

The City of Pineville thanked everyone who joined the event in preserving and celebrating Pineville’s heritage.
