Mr. O’Pry, 77, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.
He was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather who treasured his family above all else. A hardworking man, he spent his life working in the oil field, taking pride in providing for those he loved. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things in life, fishing, squirrel hunting, camping, swimming in the creek, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his hard work, his love for the outdoors, and the many special memories he created with the people he loved. His presence brought warmth and love to those around him, and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Lillie O’Pry; one grandson, Cody O’Pry; three brothers, Jimmy O’Pry, Steve Delafosse, and Andrew O’Pry; and one sister, Linda O’Neal.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-two years, Joy Lynn O’Pry of Glenmora; two sons, Michael O’Pry (Christal) of Opelousas, and Jonathon O’Pry (Peggy) of Glenmora; three stepsons, Shane Carraway of Glenmora, Travis Carraway (April) of Pine Prairie, and Jesse Carraway of Port Allen; one brother, Davis Delafosse of Pine Prairie; three sisters, Rita Manuel (Allen) of Pine Prairie, Tonya Davidson (Darrick) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Tammy O’Pry of Eunice; three grandsons, Zak, Keegan, and Brody; four granddaughters, Nikki, Madison, Alaina, and Judy; three great grandsons, Charlie, Henry, and Oliver; and three great granddaughters, Peach, Noa, and Saylor.
