Pineville officers credited with saving life after suspected overdose

The Pineville Police Department credited Officers Chris Busby and Jessie Sanchez with taking life-saving action during a motor vehicle crash July 31 in the 1800 block of Military Highway.

The officers arrived at the scene within moments and found an unconscious individual inside a vehicle. After a rapid assessment, they determined the individual was suffering from a suspected narcotics overdose.

Officer Busby and Officer Sanchez safely removed the individual from the vehicle. After finding no detectable pulse, they immediately began life-saving measures.

While one officer initiated CPR, the other retrieved and administered Narcan.

The Pineville Police Department said the officers’ coordinated response, composure under pressure and decisive actions were instrumental in providing the individual with a chance at survival.

The department commended Busby and Sanchez for their professionalism, courage, dedication and commitment to protecting and serving the community.
