Ruby Kolin/Rapides Parish Fire District #7 members returned home following the 121st Louisiana State Firemen’s Association Conference.

The conference provided an opportunity for members to meet, network and exchange ideas with firefighters and fire service leaders from departments across Louisiana.

Throughout the conference, members took part in training led by knowledgeable and experienced instructors. Topics ranged from lithium-ion battery fires and emerging hazards to leadership and professional development, with a focus on keeping today’s firefighters prepared for the challenges they face.

The knowledge, ideas and experiences gained at the conference will be brought back to RKFD and shared with the rest of the department.

By continuing to learn from others and investing in training opportunities, the department said it helps every member grow, strengthen the department and ultimately provide better service to the community.

Members thanked the Louisiana State Firemen’s Association, instructors, vendors and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the 121st Conference a successful experience.
