Funeral services for Nelda Fawn Rush Ford will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with Reverend David Barnard officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery, Deville.

Pallbearers will be Art Nalle, Jason Maupin, David Brewster, James Lucas IV, Jeremy Dyer, and Alan Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Walt Lavespere and Ronald Johnson.

The family requests that visitation be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Ford, 97, of Alexandria passed from this life on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

She was a member of Baptist Temple, Alexandria. During her working career, she worked for Rapides Wholesale Grocery and Ann’s Hallmark Card Shop. She also enjoyed helping others by serving as a Pink Lady at Rapides General Hospital.

Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband, L. P. Ford; an infant son; and an infant daughter; parents, Oliver Dewey and Beatrice Poston Rush; brother, Bob Rush; sisters, Jewel Rush Johnson and Dickie Rush Thomas; nieces, Christine Maupin, Geraldine Thomas, Kimberly Ann Rush; nephew, Marlon Rush.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories include her brother, Gary Rush (Nancy); sister, Darlene Rush Nalle (Neil); nieces, Carol Misfeldt (Tom), Cheryl Stretch (Jerry), Nancy Sherriel Rush, Penny Boyd (Alan), Deanna “DeeDee” Anderson (Christopher), Shoyna Rush Lucas (James); nephews, Ronald Johnson (Marsha), Gary Robert Rush (Colleen), Craig Oliver Rush, Steven Lawrence Rush and Arthur Nalle; host of great nieces and nephews; one great great niece.
