With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Gwen Watkins (Simmons), who passed away at home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a cherished “Momo”. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her whole world. She filled their lives with unconditional love, laughter, and countless treasured memories that will be carried in their hearts forever. She also found happiness in the simple moments-spending quiet days at home with her beloved husband, Perry, and her faithful dog, Rocky. Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family made every house feel like a home. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she passed peacefully, surrounded by those that loved her most. Her legacy of love, compassion and devotion will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
Gwen is preceded in death by her father, William Lazine Watkins and grandson, Gaylen Lane LeBrun.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Perry Ducote; children, Mitchell Watkins, Meagan Simmons, and Nathan Simmons; her mother, Opal Watkins; one brother, Darrin Watkins; the loves of her life: her grandchildren, Lukas Simmons, Gabriela Lowery, Analyse LeBrun, Ava Trahan, Landen LeBrun, Kamdyn Watkins, Carter Kittle, Raelyn Watkins and her great granddaughter, Natalie LeBrun.
Funeral services for Gwendolyn Watkins will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Cobb officiating. Interment will follow in Gorum Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Mitchell Watkins, Nathan Simmons, James LeBrun, Landen LeBrun, Carter Kittle, and Kamdyn Watkins.
