Jackson was not just a dedicated Medical Material Supervisor for the United States Air Force and a proud veteran who served 22 years, but he was also a family man through and through. In 1957, he married the love of his life, Sylvia. Over the next 69 years, they shared a marriage rich with love and happiness, creating cherished memories and raising a wonderful family together. Jack took great pride in being a doting father and adored his grandkids and great-grandkids.
A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he had a deep connection to his faith and a strong sense of community. He also had a green thumb; his love for plants and flowers was evident in the beauty that surrounded his home, which he cherished as much as his family.
Jackson is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Sylvia Brossette Ferrell, and his three wonderful children, Tracy Briley (Ron), Tammy Dennison (Randy), and Jeffery Ferrell (Sheila); grandchildren, Eranda Stout (Shawn), Joey Dennison (Brandy), Rory Briley (Krystal), Coty Briley, Meghan Ferrell, Madison Ferrell and Isabella Ferrell; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kite, Jackson and Jordyn; brother, James Ferrell (Carol); sister, Jerrie Webb and host of extended family and friends. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson Herman Ferrell, Sr., and Ethel Mae Parrish Ferrell; brother, Ricky Barnes; son, Jackson “Butch” Herman Ferrell, III; and sister, Patricia Curry.
Jackson Herman Ferrell Jr. leaves behind a rich legacy of love, service, and laughter. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
