
Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Fannie Cheek will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Fall Creek Funeral Home, Pineville with the Rev. Nathan Martin and Bro. Buddy Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Ball.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Fall Creek Funeral Home from 10:00AM until time of services.
Mrs. Cheek, age 89 of Pollock, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 in The Oaks Care Center, Pineville, surrounded by her family.
Fannie was a longtime resident of Pineville. During her working career, she was a transcriptionist and receptionist in the Psychology Department at Central State Hospital, a gift registry consultant for J C Penney’s, a patient care representative for Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, and a homemaker for 25 years. She also had her own business, “Drapes By Fannie”, where she worked from home making curtains and window shades. Fannie also had a few hobbies that she enjoyed; sewing, painting, cooking, and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James O. and Lucretia S. Boddie; her husband of 33 years, Douglas D Cheek; and her stepson, Bob Bannon.
Fannie is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Thompson (Lonnie) of West Monroe, Donna Cheek of Pineville; her grandson, Andrew Thompson (Brittany) and her granddaughter, Mackenzie Cheek, both of Pineville; stepdaughter, Jackie Mitchell (Lynn); her step grandchildren and their families.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Phillip Maxwell, Steve Berry, Rich Carlisle, Jason McManus, Kenneth Simon, and Dereck Pickney.
