The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced an emergency closure of a section of LA 488, also known as Twin Bridges Road, in Alexandria.

The closure is located approximately two miles west of the intersection with LA 1208-3, also known as Jackson Street. According to DOTD, the roadway was closed due to malfunctioning equipment located in the road.

The closure took effect immediately Monday evening, June 22, and is expected to remain in place until the morning of Tuesday, June 23. DOTD will issue an update when the roadway reopens.

All vehicles must use an alternate route while the closure remains in effect. Motorists are encouraged to use caution near the work area and watch for crews and equipment.
