Alex Goodling named principal of Bolton Academy

The Rapides Parish School Board has named Alex Goodling as the new principal of Bolton Academy, a Pre-K-12 Academic and Performing Arts Magnet School.

Goodling brings 20 years of experience within the Rapides Parish School District to the position. His career in educational leadership began as a Lead Teacher at the Rapides Alternative Positive Program for Students (RAPPS), where he served from 2014 to 2018.

He later served as assistant principal at Bolton High School from 2018 to 2021 before being named principal of Northwood High School. Since 2021, Goodling has led Northwood High School, overseeing academic programs and school operations.

The appointment marks a return to the Bolton campus for Goodling as the school continues its transition into a Pre-K-12 Academic and Performing Arts Magnet School.

His appointment comes as Bolton Academy enters a new chapter focused on academic achievement and expanded educational opportunities for students across grade levels.
