Work is underway on a multi-million dollar park improvement initiative that will bring upgrades to six parks across the City of Alexandria.

Southern Sites Services announced its partnership with the city on the project, which is aimed at creating safer, more functional and more enjoyable recreational spaces for residents and visitors.

The renovations will include upgraded playground equipment, improvements to walking trails and sports courts, new gathering spaces, enhanced landscaping, updated splash pads and other park amenities.

Officials said the improvements are designed to enhance the overall park experience while providing modernized facilities for families and community members.

Construction activities are ongoing at the six park locations, with additional progress updates expected as the project moves forward.

The initiative represents a significant investment in Alexandria’s public recreational infrastructure and is intended to improve access to quality outdoor spaces throughout the city.
