Road patches on Williams Lake, Palmer Chapel roads to be reworked before overlay

Residents who have expressed concerns about recent road patching work on Williams Lake Road and Palmer Chapel Road can expect additional improvements before the final paving overlay is completed, according to Rapides Parish Police Juror Randy Wiggins.

Wiggins said he consulted with parish engineers and confirmed that the existing patches will be reworked and brought up to grade prior to the final overlay phase of the project.

According to Wiggins, some shrinkage and compaction of the patch asphalt is expected as traffic moves over the roadway and is considered a normal part of the construction process.

Wiggins thanked residents for their feedback and encouraged them to continue sharing concerns about road conditions and other issues within District B.

The roadwork is part of ongoing efforts to improve roadway safety and infrastructure in the area.
