Rapides educators, retirees honored at RAPAP annual luncheon

The Rapides Association of Personnel Administrators and Personnel (RAPAP) recently recognized educators, retirees and students during its annual luncheon.

Donald Welch received the Allen Nichols Award, which honors outstanding service as an educator and community leader.

Several recent retirees were recognized for their contributions to education and the impact they made on students throughout their careers. Honorees included Kimberly Bryan, assistant principal at L.S. Rugg Elementary School; Dr. Cheronda Cooper, assistant principal at C.C. Raymond Junior High School; Shannon Carmouche, principal of Alexandria Middle Magnet School; Bob Stevens, principal of Poland Junior High School; Christy Roberts, principal of Ball Elementary School; and Jenifer Scott, principal of Bolton Academy.

RAPAP also awarded scholarships to three graduating seniors: Eva P. of Alexandria Senior High School, Tucker L. of Tioga High School and Bailee H. of Buckeye High School.

The annual event brought together current and former educators, providing an opportunity to reconnect, share experiences and celebrate the work of educators across Rapides Parish.
