Sandra Davidson West, age 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Born and raised in the heart of Louisiana, she spent her life with her roots planted firmly in faith, family, friendships and unconditional love.

Growing up in Alexandria, Louisiana, Sandra’s life was grounded in her faith, shaped by her years at Hope Baptist Church and Hope Baptist School. These early lessons of grace, kindness, and devotion became the values that guided her through every chapter of her life. In her youth, she was also an accomplished cellist and vocalist, always eager to share her love of music with those around her. Her childhood friends remember her as a fun loving, gentle spirit with deep Christian faith.

At a young age, she met the love of her life, Michael West. Together, they shared an enduring marriage of 46 years. Their bond was a true partnership, weathering life’s seasons side-by-side with unwavering commitment and love.

The proudest achievement of Sandra’s life was her son, Forrest West, whom she loved deeply and fiercely. Her legacy of love expanded even further through her four grandchildren. Sandra poured her heart into all of their lives. After raising her son, she dedicated much of her time to her two oldest grandchildren, Draven West and Frost West, loving and helping raise them as if they were her very own. She also deeply cherished her grandson, Oktober West, and her youngest granddaughter, Effie West. Her home was always filled with guidance, love, and a soft place to land for all of them.

Before her retirement, Sandra spent most of her career deeply devoted to leading the round-the-clock communications team at the Medical Center Clinic and West Florida Hospital. She frequently worked extended hours, remained constantly on call to guide her staff, and stood as a pillar of strength for her team through several natural disasters. She held the highest regard for the medical teams, the support staff, and the patients she served so faithfully.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Michael West; her son, Forrest West; her daughter-in-law, Kinsley West; her four cherished grandchildren, Draven, Frost, Oktober, and Effie; her sister, Renae Baker; her mother-in-law, Louise Lowell; and her brother-in-law, Jamie West. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Davidson, as well as her brother, Michael Davidson.

The family will gather privately to honor Sandra’s life. A memorial service welcoming friends and loved ones will be scheduled for a future date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Manna Food Pantries in Pensacola, a grassroots organization fighting hunger, and providing food for children, senior citizens, and families.
