Softball playoffs include 10 parish teams, six with first-round byes

The LHSAA softball playoff brackets released Wednesday reflect the tradition of strong high school softball in Rapides Parish.

Plainview is the seventh seed in Class C and earned a bye, looking forward to a second-rounder against No. 10 Evans.

Four more parish teams have first-round games today or Friday.

Peabody, the 19th seed in Select D2, plays today at 4 against No. 14 Cabrini in New Orleans.

The Class B bracket provides a local matchup as No. 16 Grace Christian is home Friday at 6 against 17th seeded Glenmora.
