LCU to host Community Awareness Fair

Louisiana Christian University’s Psychology Club will present a Community Awareness Fair on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon in the Granberry Conference Center.

The Community Awareness Fair is designed to connect local residents and university students with vital support services available throughout the region.

“Families and individuals often face a variety of life challenges, and this event aims to increase awareness of preventative and responsive resources that can provide meaningful assistance,” said Dr. Mollie Wise, chair of the Psychology Department.

The goal is for attendees to have the opportunity to engage with representatives from organizations offering services in key areas such as domestic violence prevention, homelessness support, substance abuse treatment, human trafficking awareness, mental health services and community-based support groups.

“By bringing these resources together in one location, the event seeks to empower both the local community and the LCU student body with knowledge of available services—ensuring individuals know where to turn for help, whether for themselves or for someone they know,” Wise said.

The event is free and open to the public.
