The Rapides Parish School Board recognized its top early elementary educators during a special luncheon celebrating Literacy Excellence Model Teachers.

The event honored outstanding kindergarten through second-grade teachers who have demonstrated strong student outcomes and a commitment to literacy instruction. District leaders noted that these educators will now serve as model teachers, providing opportunities to showcase effective strategies for fellow teachers across the district and the state.

The celebration brought together educators and community partners to highlight the importance of early literacy and the impact of quality instruction in the classroom.

The school board also expressed appreciation to Air Reading for sponsoring the event, and to Lagniappe Theatre Company for hosting the luncheon, noting that community partnerships help make recognition events like this possible.
