
Nine parish high school baseball teams were in the LHSAA baseball playoff brackets unveiled Tuesday, with Glenmora, Grace Christian, Plainview, Buckeye and ASH all earning top 10 seeds.
Glenmora is the second seed in Class B. Grace Christian is right behind at No. 3. Both get first round byes.
Plainview is No. 7 in Class C, received a bye and already knows its opponent – No. 10 Calvin, later this month.
ASH is the eighth seed in Select Division I, while Tioga is No. 11 and Pineville is 17th. The Trojans and Indians got first-round byes but have their three-game series matchups for next weekend. ASH gets to host No. 9 Captain Shreve, while Tioga travels to New Orleans to meet Jesuit, the sixth seed.
The Rebels go to 16th-seeded Riverdale in a three-game series beginning Thursday at 6, continuing Friday at 4:30 and if necessary, with a decisive third game Saturday morning at 10.
Buckeye drew the 8 in Select Division II. The Panthers will host St. Michael in a three-game series next week.
Menard is No. 12 in Select Division III and got a first-round pass. The Eagles go to Catholic-New Iberia, the fifth seed, in the regional round next week.
Oak Hill is the 12th seed in Class B and also is off this week, going to No. 5 Holden in the regional round sometime between April 29 and May 2.
