Louisiana Christian University (LCU) will host its first SENDLA event on Tuesday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as students, faculty, and staff participate in campus-wide community service efforts.

The event, a phonetic play on “CENLA” for Central Louisiana, is inspired by the biblical passage Matthew 28, in which Jesus instructs His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations.” LCU leaders say the program will be held each semester as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to service.

In partnership with local organizations, participants will serve throughout the parish in both practical and relational ways. Partner organizations include First Baptist Pineville, Philadelphia Baptist Church, Family of Grace Church, the Hope House, Fostering Community, the Food Bank of Central Louisiana, First Baptist Church Ball, Main Street Missions, the Rapides Parish Library System, CENLA Pregnancy Center, Pineville Park, and Faith Baptist Church.

Additionally, LCU President Dr. Mark Johnson will lead a group of students in visiting residents within the neighboring community.
