Construction on Highway 1207 is set to resume Monday, March 23 with officials warning motorists to expect significant travel delays.

According to Rapides Parish Police Juror Craig Smith, the project will begin with milling the roadway, followed by the application of chip seal, with asphalt serving as the final layer.

The construction process is expected to create hazardous driving conditions, including fresh oil and loose rock that may pose a risk to vehicles. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternate routes during the duration of the work.

Officials note the improvements will provide a much-needed upgrade to the roadway once completed.
