It’s been a milestone week for two of Alexandria’s newest police officers, Shakquor Thompson and Brandon Lacoy, who officially joined the Alexandria Police Department after graduating from the 2025 academy class.
Their week began with a formal oath administered by Judge Starling, followed by a pinning ceremony where loved ones proudly placed their badges. The culmination came as they crossed the stage at their graduation ceremony, marking the start of their careers in public service.
Officer Brandon Lacoy stood out among his peers, serving as the 2025 Academy Class President. He was awarded the Glen Devanie Memorial Scholastic Award for achieving the highest GPA and was also selected by fellow cadets for the prestigious Ricky Isaac, Jr. Memorial Award, recognizing him as the class’s most outstanding cadet.
Both officers are now prepared to serve and protect the Alexandria community. The department extended its congratulations and expressed pride in welcoming these dedicated individuals to the APD family.
