Arrest made in criminal sexual conduct investigation

Patrol deputies responded to the 4000 block of Lincoln Road in reference to possible criminal sexual conduct on April 25. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant and an initial report was taken outlining the allegations. Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives from the Tioga Substation were assigned the cased for follow up investigation.

Detectives contacted the Children’s Advocacy Center and with their assistance, a forensic interview with the victim was scheduled. Once the interview was complete, detectives were able to establish a suspect, identified as Jackson Douglas Gallent, 20 of Ball.

On May 13, Sheriff’s detectives located Gallent, and he was detained pending further investigation. From their investigation, detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause that supported the original allegations. An arrest warrant for Gallent for First Degree Rape was obtained.

Gallent was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for booking.  Gallent remains in jail at the time of this release being held on a $100,000.00 bond.
