Pineville PD reminds the public about horse-riding on roads

Pineville PD published a public reminder regarding RS 3:2851 which says it is illegal for livestock like horses, mules, donkeys, and asses to be ridden on paved, black-topped, or asphalt highways. Or, as Pineville PD put it: “No equestrian adventures on the fancy roads.”

They added that the idea of riding on certain roads at night is not only illegal but also dangerously risky for both rider and animal.

They closed the announcement with a reminder that “Before you channel your inner cowboy and gallop off into the sunset, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the law.”
