At least 2 subjects were discovered on homeowners’ security cameras burglarizing or attempting to burglarize multiple vehicles in the Echo/Poland area in the early morning hours of Jan. 4. According to the initial report, firearms, electronics, clothing and cash were taken from these vehicles. Patrol deputies responded and took the initial report, and Sheriff’s Detectives also responded to conduct their investigation.
Sheriff’s detectives gathered evidence including asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects from still shots of the surveillance video. Through their investigation, Detectives were able to identify the suspects as Blake Michael Brouillette, 18, of Center Point and Tyler Ray Manning, 22, of Hessmer.
Significant probable cause was established for arrest warrants to be granted for both suspects for burglaries and attempted burglaries.
RPSO detectives, along with assistance from detectives with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Pineville Police Department and Marksville Police Department, conducted search warrants on Jan. 14 on 3 properties related to the 2 suspects. Both suspects were located and taken into custody without incident on warrants obtained from the investigation from the Echo/Poland burglaries and were booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail. They were later extradited to the Rapides Parish Detention Center where they remain at the time of this release, both being held on an $80,000.00 bond.
Sheriff’s detectives say this is an ongoing, joint investigation which include the Kolin/Pineville areas as well as Avoyelles Parish and more arrests are expected. If anyone has any more information on these burglaries, they are asked to contact Detective Shannon Hanks at 318-473-6727.
RPSO expressed thanks to the Pineville Police Department, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Marksville Police Department for their assistance in this investigation as well as their loyal Facebook followers and local media partners.
