Owing to the severe weather experienced by Rapides Parish, the pet adoption event co-hosted by the Rapides Animal Medical Center and the City of Alexandria Animal Shelter was cancelled on Saturday, Nov. 9, but rescheduled to this coming Saturday, Nov. 16. The event is still being held at the Rapides Animal Medical Center on Jackson St. in Alexandria and will take place from 9am to 1pm. 

Several cats and dogs will be available for adoption. Adoption fees are as follows:

• Male dogs: $90
• Female dogs: $95
• Male cats: $75
• Female cats: $85

Adoption fees include the first set of shots, the rabies vaccination, spaying/neutering, physical exam, and fecal exam. Each pet adoption comes with a goodie bag of treats, toys, pet food, and coupons. All pets are the adoption event are already microchipped.
