ASH rises to second in final state Top 10 poll

After blasting previously second-ranked and undefeated Neville last Friday, the Alexandria Senior High Trojans replaced the Tigers in the No. 2 slot in this week’s state Class 5A Top 10 poll.

The Louisiana Sports Writers Association issued its final polls of the 2024 season Monday. A dozen LSWA members from around the state ranked the top teams in all five classifications each week of regular-season play.

After being dominated by ASH, Neville slipped down to No. 5 in this week’s voting, just ahead of another District 2-5A team, defending Non-Select Division I state champion Ruston.

The Trojans won the 2-5A championship while finishing unbeaten and locking up a first-week bye in the state playoffs.
