Rapides Parish Clerk of Court Robin Hooter announced her retirement, effective Nov. 30. Her term was set to expire June 30, 2028.
Hooter, who has served as clerk for 13 years, was returned to her office just last year when no one qualified to challenge her. She named her chief deputy, Karan Corley, as her replacement.
Hooter said her work has been “both a challenging and rewarding experience that has more than fulfilled my life’s goal of serving the public. I wish to thank the people of Rapides Parish for their confidence in me and for allowing me to serve them,” reads a recent news release.
She called Corley, who has more than 37 years experience in the clerk’s office, “qualified, competent and experienced.”
“My success would not have been possible without the support of such an outstanding staff who are dedicated to serving you with courtesy, compassion and professional integrity,” she wrote.
