Hope House to hold ribbon cutting today

The Hope House will hold a ribbon cutting today, Oct. 29 for their new Hope Community, a transformative next step for the individuals they serve. This exciting addition features affordable houses designed to empower those transitioning from the Hope House to independent living while still providing the vital support they need.

The initial phase of the neighborhood project includes four single-family homes. In Phase 2, they plan to add additional units as resources allow. In time, they envision building multiple neighborhoods of this type, addressing the gap in safe, affordable housing for low-income individuals and families in the area. It is needed.

“The dream has become reality,” Board President Michelle Stansell shared. “For many years, Hope House staff and board envisioned a place where clients who complete the Hope House program have the opportunity to transition into safe, affordable housing in the central Louisiana community. Our region severely lacks affordable housing units and this ‘pocket neighborhood’ option enables clients to truly come full circle.”

The Hope Community isn’t limited to Hope House graduates, Stansell said. “In addition to our graduates, qualified low-income candidates may be referred to Hope House by other agencies for application to reside in Hope Community as well.”

The Hope Community Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held today, Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 4 pm at 4503 Adrienne Dr. in Alexandria.
