In 1995, a group of individuals with various concerns regarding children’s issues realized the need for an organization that could serve as a spokesperson for children. To address this need the Rapides Children’s Advocacy Center, Inc (RCAC) was created.
Through training, advocacy, and mobile efforts, thousands of abused and neglected children have been served through RCAC, now Children’s Advocacy Network, and CASA in Louisiana.
The Children’s Advocacy Network is hosting their annual fundraising event on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Randolph Riverfront Center. One of CENLA’s premier functions, it is attended by leaders from the corporate, medical, and social communities.
Each year they serve approximately 1,000 abused and neglected children through advocacy, counseling, forensic interviews, and case management services. Because of this support of our community over the last decade, they have been able to increase the service area for CASA, purchase a mobile unit for forensic interviews, add a therapy program to help heal children, and provide medical exams onsite allowing the child to avoid the unpleasant experience of the local emergency room.
This event, held at the Randolph Riverfront Center Thursday evening from 6-9 pm, will feature both a silent and live auction, and testimonials, along with dinner and a cash bar.
