Quarter-million bail based on long rap sheet, lethal weapon possession

Victor Dauphiney allegedly possessing a firearm is no surprise. The machine gun likely was. 

Dauphiney, 28, of Alexandria was pulled over by Alexandria officers for a contempt of court warrant in mid-afternoon Friday, on Masonic Drive, somewhere between Cabrini Hospital and Alexandria Mall, allegedly with a machine gun in the vehicle.

He was booked on that alleged violation, the contempt charge and being a convicted felon possessing a firearm. Bail is set at $248,500. 

Firearms have figured in Dauphiney’s arrests for at least five years:

March 2019 – State Police charge of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and having firearm in presence of drugs;

August 2019 – St. Landry Sheriff’s Office drug and firearms charges;

August 2020 – Rapides charges of attempted murder 2nd degree, convicted felon with firearm, illegal use of dangerous weapon, fugitive, battery and probation violation;

Released January 2021;

April 2021 – Rapides charges of convicted felon with firearm, firearm with drugs, illegal possession stolen firearm, possession CDS, obstruction of justice by threats/intimidation and probation violation (released in May to Department of Corrections);

August 2023 – Rapides charges of convicted felon with firearm, firearm with drugs, illegal possession stolen firearm, possession CDS, unsafe vehicle, suspension/revocation, seatbelt violation, contempt.
