No details yet on Vicksburg suspect’s seven attempted murder charges

By JIM BUTLER

As of early Sunday evening Rapides authorities had not yet shared details of seven attempted second-degree murder charges against a Mississippi man.

Kearrious McCoy, 34, of Vicksburg was booked Friday afternoon and is held under $4,076,000 bail.

In addition to the attempted murder counts, he is charged with illegal use of dangerous weapon 3 counts, carjacking 2 counts, criminal damage 2 counts and cruelty to animals.

Absence of information release on weekends, barring a threat to the public, is not that uncommon.

Piecing details together when parties may not be available can be a weekend delay factor.

Whether arrest of a second man with McCoy as a last name is related to the attempted murder case was not known.
