Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Pierite Sampson will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Simpson Baptist Church in Moreauville with Pastor Terryl Pierite, Sr. officiating. Burial will be held in the Simpson Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mrs. Sampson, age 78, of Moreauville, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at her residence in Moreauville. Inez Pierite Sampson was a loving wife, caring mother, and a faithful member of Simpson Baptist Church. She loved people and no one was a stranger. Her passions were cooking, baking cakes, and family gatherings. Inez was united in marriage to Larry Sampson, Sr. on December 21, 1963. Their union gave birth to eight children.
She is preceded in death by her son, Shane Sampson; grandchildren, Ashley Sampson Franklin, Dontrell Deville Sampson, Sr.; Parents, Celina Ford Pierite and Herman Pierite Sr.; siblings, Alfred Pierite Sr., Betty Logan, Herman Pierite Jr., Catherine Farbe, Arthur Roy Pierite; son-in-law, Dale Barbin; mother and father-in-law, Laudrick Sampson and Laura Francisco Sampson; brother-in-laws, Emeric Sampson, Kazmar Sampson, Ellis Sampson and sister-in-law, Crystell Lonzo.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Larry Anthony Sampson, Sr. of Moreauville; seven children, Melissa Sampson Barbin of Marksville, Larry Sampson, Jr. of Marksville, Marshall Ray Sampson, Sr. (Kayla) of Marksville, Cynthia Bridges (Lonnie, Sr.) of Cottonport, Leonard Lee Sampson, Sr. (Golda) of Marksville, Shannon Keith Sampson (Amy) of Moreauville, Denika Sampson of Moreauville; siblings, Louise Perry of Battle Creek, Michigan, Silton Pierite, Sr. of Hessmer, Beryl Pierite Holmes (Charles) of Moreauville, Rev. Terryl Pierite, Sr. (Mattie) of Moreauville, Marshall Pierite (Stephanie) of Marksville, Harold Pierite Sr. (Heather) of Mansura; 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Velma Leveige, Mercell Sampson Pierite, Uradine Sampson Bonton (Clifford), Ida Mae Pierite; brother-In-Law, Kenneth Farbe Jr.; god children, Richella Malveaux and Rev. Allen Holmes. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
