The Rapides Parish Police Jury will hold a special meeting Monday, Oct. 26, at 10:30 a.m. to consider improvements to its Public Works Department facilities. The agenda includes purchasing movable office buildings for the Esler Field Road and Glenmora locations at a cost not exceeding $50,000 each. Jurors will also consider a proposed 50-year agreement with the Town of Glenmora to lease three acres for a new Public Works office and station. The meeting will be held in the second-floor Police Jury Meeting Room at the Rapides Parish Courthouse, 701 Murray St., Alexandria.

Pineville will host its Family Fall Fest Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5-8 p.m. at the Ward 9 Sportsplex, 3311 Donahue Ferry Road. Local businesses and community organizations are encouraged to participate by distributing candy and treats.
