Rapides Parish Library collaborates on design concepts for new Lecompte branch

Representatives from Rapides Parish Library and HBM Architects participated in a collaborative design workshop during the Library Journal Design Institute in Columbus, Ohio, focusing on plans for a new 5,000-square-foot library branch in Lecompte, Louisiana.

HBM Architects facilitated the breakout workshop in partnership with Rapides Parish Library Director Celise A. Reech-Harper and Business Manager Stacy Dubrock.

The session focused on developing design concepts for the proposed library branch, with participants working together to explore site strategies, functional layouts, and interior color palettes.

Discussions addressed several factors affecting the proposed development, including nearby highway traffic, flood-prone terrain, and the need for flexible programming spaces.

The workshop emphasized community-driven design and how thoughtful planning can transform an undeveloped site into a functional facility that meets the needs of library patrons.

HBM Architects expressed appreciation to the Rapides Parish Library team and workshop participants for their collaboration and contributions to the design discussion.
