Christina Louise Ponthieux, age 58, passed away on October 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.
Christina dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a nurse since 1993. Throughout her career, she brought kindness, comfort, and compassion to countless patients and their families. Her dedication to nursing reflected the caring spirit that defined so much of her life and the lives she touched will remain part of her lasting legacy.
Outside of work, Christina enjoyed attending church, taking trips, and trying on every goofy hat she could find. One of her favorite places to go and talk about was Galveston, Texas. She loved the warm sand and water. At home, she found comfort with her two fur babies, Toto and Peanut, who gave her peace and company during her nightly dialysis treatments.
Christina’s faith was an important part of her life. She attended Hope Church of Dry Prong, Louisiana. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and free from sickness, pain, and exhaustion and is resting in the presence of the Lord.
Christina is survived by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Ponthieux; mother, Clydel Morris; step-father, Hershel Morris; sisters, Michelle Smith and Angela Smith (Buddy Warren); and her nephew, Patrick Smith. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Josie Glenn and nephew, Travis Smith.
Christina will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her dedication to caring for others, her playful spirit, and the love she shared with her family. Though she will be deeply missed, the impact she made on the lives of others will never be forgotten.
A memorial service for Christina will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:00-1:00 pm at Hope Church of Dry Prong, 7011 LA-123, Dry Prong, LA 71423.
“I have fought the good fight; I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
–2 Timothy 4:7-8
