Alexandria City Council to Consider Utility Contracts, Housing Rezoning and Sidewalk Improvements

The Alexandria City Council meets Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 5 p.m. to consider several infrastructure and development matters. Agenda items include water well maintenance, law enforcement grant funding, proposed Masonic Drive sidewalk and Hynson Bayou pedestrian bridge improvements, and rezoning property at 3200 Third St. for low- and moderate-income housing. The meeting is open to the public.

The Rapides Parish Police Jury advises motorists to expect traffic delays beginning Wednesday, Oct. 21, as stabilization and surface treatment construction begins on four parish roads. Work will affect Mercer Road from its intersection with Louisiana Highway 107, Stuchlik Road from Booner Miller Road, J.W. Ryder Road from Louisiana Highway 115, and Aycock Road from Louisiana Highway 115. Construction will continue until further notice.

Rapides Parish Police Jury
The Rapides Parish Police Jury will hold its regular committee meetings Wednesday, Nov. 4, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Police Jury Office in Alexandria. Eight committees will meet, addressing finance, public works, economic development, facilities, personnel and public safety. The agenda will be posted Oct. 30. Meetings will be streamed live through the Police Jury’s website and YouTube channel.
