LCU rising in national polls as three-game road string begins

The Louisiana Christian Wildcats have climbed higher than ever before in the NAIA top 25 polls after a three-game homestand, and will now take their show on the road for the next three weeks.

The Wildcats moved to No. 14 in the Victory Sports Network Top 25 media poll and 15th in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll this week.

Louisiana Christian (6-1, 4-0 Sooner Athletic Conference) starts a three-week stretch of road games Saturday when it kicks off in Waxahachie, Texas to take on Nelson. Kickoff of the contest against the Lions (1-5, 1-3 SAC) is set for 2 p.m. at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium and will be live streamed on YouTube thanks to 446Sports.

Last week the Wildcats topped visited Texas Wesleyan, 42-27, last Saturday, taking sole possession of first place in the conference as the lone team still undefeated in SAC play.

LCU has given two of the three teams with one loss in the SAC their loss, Wayland Baptist (4-2, 3-1 SAC) and Texas Wesleyan (3-3, 3-1 SAC). The third team with one loss in the SAC, Ottawa (Ariz.) (4-2, 4-1 SAC), comes to Pineville in the final week of the regular season.

After setting a season high for receptions and career highs in yards and touchdowns in the SAC’s Game of the Week, junior receiver Omarius Davis was named the SAC’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Davis had a season high with seven receptions and two touchdowns. With those seven catches, Davis gained 153 yards, setting a new career high.

This is Davis’s first career SAC Player of the Week award. This is the fourth week of the 2026 season where LCU has been represented with at least one SAC Player of the Week honor, taking a total of eight awards so far this year.
